Riverbed Technology LLC, an American information technology company based in San Francisco, specializes in providing software and hardware solutions for Unified Observability, Network Visibility, End User Experience Management, network performance monitoring, application performance management, and wide area networks (WANs), including SD-WAN and WAN optimization. Founded in 2002 by former CEO Jerry Kennelly and former CTO Steve McCanne, the company was initially named NBT (Next Big Thing) Technology but rebranded as Riverbed Technology in 2003. Riverbed's first SteelHead appliances, including the 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000 models, were developed internally and shipped in April 2004 to Environment Canada.
After going public on NASDAQ on September 21, 2006, Riverbed opened an off-site location at Research Park, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, prior to 2009. In December 2021, the company was recapitalized with Apollo Global Management as its majority shareholder at the time, and in 2023, it was acquired by private equity firm Vector Capital. Additionally, in February 2014, the US hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation made a $3.36 billion offer to acquire Riverbed, following the rejection of a bid of $3.08 billion.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Master's in Computer Applications.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficiency in the English language is a prerequisite for effective communication with colleagues and customers.
- Deep understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts and principles
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Proficiency in Python for the purpose of automation and debugging
- Ability to comprehend and interpret Functional Specifications, Design Specifications, and Test Plans in detail
- Capacity to develop robust Test Cases, perform and automate them, and detect and report issues
- Expertise in analyzing and identifying the root causes of customer/internal issues, recognizing test gaps, and addressing them
- Strong understanding of Storage concepts
- Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience or familiarity with Computer Architecture, Operating System concepts, and File Systems concepts.
